Design guidance
- SHOULD use GPU-accelerated NER models for large corpora where throughput determines whether construction completes in hours or days.
- SHOULD, in hybrid retrieval, extract only entity types modeled as graph nodes, since only those are useful traversal starting points.

- spaCy en_core_web_lg achieves 85-90% F1 on standard benchmarks at ~5,000 entities/s on CPU (Ch1.7A).
- NeMo NER achieves 90%+ F1 at 25,000+ entities/s on GPU, a 3-5x throughput improvement over spaCy (Ch1.7A).
