Graph-of-Thought Controller
Software componentCognitionCognition & Memoryarc:GraphOfThoughtsController
A thought exploration controller that builds a directed acyclic reasoning graph, selecting generation, aggregation or refinement transformations per a domain template and extracting the final solution.
Responsibility. Decides which thought transformation to apply next over a reasoning DAG.
Also known as: GoT controller, Graph-of-Thoughts controller
Variant of Thought Exploration Controller abstract
When to choose. Choose when a problem decomposes into independent subproblems whose solutions must be synthesized, or intermediate results should inform rather than compete with each other.

Design guidance
- SHOULD only be deployed when cost-per-correct-solution significantly favors it over Tree-of-Thought on representative problems.
- SHOULD NOT be used where evaluation is unreliable, since aggregation propagates misevaluated thoughts, or for latency-critical real-time applications.
- SHOULD revise only the minimal subgraph dependent on an erroneous thought rather than restarting globally.
Quantitative guidance
As stated by the sources; verify before use.
- 256-item sorting: GoT 99% accuracy vs. ToT 61%, with 31% fewer tokens (Ch5.2).
