Procedural Skill Executor
Software componentMemoryCognition & Memoryarc:ProceduralSkillExecutor
A memory component that runs a learned procedure from procedural memory outside the context window, taking parameters from the reasoning loop and returning only the result to working memory.
Responsibility. Executes learned procedures on behalf of the reasoning loop.
Also known as: Procedural memory integration, Procedural routine invocation
Relationships
Design guidance
- SHOULD keep procedure bodies out of the context window so that only invocation parameters and results occupy working memory.
Classification
- Patterns
- Invoke-procedure, return-result offloading
- Quality attributes
- Performance efficiency (ISO/IEC 25010)
- Risks mitigated
- Working-memory burden from encoding full procedures in context
