A versioning convention classifying agent changes as major (behaviour-breaking, e.g., model swap or prompt rewrite), minor (backward-compatible capability) or patch (fixes), with pre-release and build-metadata identifiers.
Responsibility. Encodes the risk class of an agent change in its version number.

Design guidance
- SHOULD treat a foundation-model swap, prompt-architecture rewrite or tool-suite restructuring as a major version requiring migration planning and extensive testing.
- MAY constrain automatic updates to minor/patch ranges within a major version to prevent accidental breaking upgrades.
