Tool Response Plausibility Checker
Software componentTools & IntegrationOrchestration & Toolsarc:ToolResponsePlausibilityChecker
A post-execution validator that applies domain knowledge and business rules to judge whether a schema-conformant tool result makes sense for the request (e.g., coordinates, result counts, value ranges).
Responsibility. Detects semantically wrong tool results before they are consumed downstream.
Also known as: Semantic response analysis, Post-execution validation, Post-validation plausibility checking

Design guidance
- SHOULD check returned data against domain expectations and business-logic constraints, not only schemas.
- SHOULD be prioritized over further pre-execution rule engineering when semantic errors dominate, since pre-validation cannot see results.
Quantitative guidance
As stated by the sources; verify before use.
- Removing post-execution validation lowered a database-querying agent's task success from 94% to 87%, versus 91% when removing pre-execution validation (Ch3.7 case).

- Risks mitigated
- Semantically invalid external data (e.g., Tokyo coordinates for New York)Business-rule violations such as negative inventorySyntactically valid but semantically wrong queries (right table, wrong time range or entity)
