Agent API Gateway
InterfaceExperienceExperience & Human Oversightarc:AgentAPIGateway
A single external HTTPS endpoint through which clients reach agent services, with TLS termination, authentication and rate limiting applied at the edge.
Responsibility. Provides the single authenticated external entry point for agent requests.
Also known as: External agent API endpoint, Ingress endpoint, API gateway single entry point, Backend-for-frontend (BFF) gateway, Kubernetes Ingress for inference service

Design guidance
- SHOULD route distinct agent capabilities (e.g., research, QA, code) by URL path behind one external endpoint.
- SHOULD present a unified interface that shields clients from backend service topology changes.
- SHOULD version routes (e.g., /v1/agents, /v2/agents) so old clients keep working as services evolve, and use HTTP status codes correctly (e.g., 429 for rate limiting).
- MAY provide a dedicated backend-for-frontend gateway per client type (e.g., condensed paginated responses for mobile, streamed updates for web) routing to the same backend services.
- SHOULD add authentication, rate limiting and TLS termination at an ingress when inference endpoints need external access.
