Find every factual claim in the chapter text above. For each one,
check whether it names a source, and whether that source id appears
in the admitted list given above. Flag a claim if it names no source
at all, or names a source id outside the admitted list.

For each flagged claim, classify it by exactly one of these four
types: factual (a specific claim stated more strongly than its source
supports), reasoning (true premises that lead to an invalid
conclusion), contextual (a true statement placed in the wrong
context), or true fabrication (an invented number or claim with no
source at all).

List only the flagged claims, one per line: the claim's own text, its
taxonomy type, and a one-line reason for the flag. Do not list a claim
that already names an admitted source. Name any claim where your own
judgment is uncertain, rather than guessing a type for it.

For this excerpt, a model given this filled prompt would be expected to flag the merge-commit sentence, since the chapter text names no source for it, and classify it as factual (a specific, checkable claim about how many parents a merge commit has, given with no citation behind it) rather than true fabrication, since the claim itself is plausible and only its sourcing is missing. To check the output: confirm every flagged claim really carries no source id, or one outside the admitted list above, by adding it as a claims/claims.json-shaped entry and running claim_source_check.py on it; confirm each taxonomy label is one of the four allowed types.
